La Vérité by Frànçois & the Atlas Mountains
Since I’ve been in Paris for a full two days now I think it’s safe to say i’m pretty much a full blown frenchie (a term, surprisingly, that actual french people do not have much regard for).
This fantasy of me being a chic Parisian goddess tends to come crashing down when
a) an actual french person asks me a question for which the answer is not “Ca va” or “Oiu”
b) My daily intake of pastries, crepes and cheese is causing me to put on weight thus working against the famous philosophy that ‘french women don’t get fat’
c) This song come on my shuffle and its only half way through that I don’t realise what it’s actually about.
Although I believe the point of good music is to transcend genre, language and culture and emulate feelings and emotions that are individual to each and every listener. So when I hear this song, it makes me feel french.
And if I feel french then surely that’s close enough to actually being french, non? Either way my metabolism better get on board asap because I have no plans to slow down my macron intake.
