somebody’s talking by the preatures
Whenever I hear this song it makes me want to flick my hair around in gay abandon and 80’s shuffle Molly Ringwald styles.
I haven’t really been following the preatures much but I do hear my hipster friends talk about them often….this tune is super catchy and has inspired me to investigate their back catalogue.
In the meantime though - let’s all get together and shimmy in the sunshine.

the fine line between love and hate is not an original topic but I think this song uniquely captures the lonely, self martyring and indulgent wallowing that comes with unrequited love.
droplets of self pity spill as "i want you so much, but I hate your guts". it is torturous, but only because we know that the hatred really is aimed at ourselves for allowing our hearts to pine after someone that our head knows does not deserve our affection.
there is a safety in wanting things that we know we can’t have because it means that we can ultimately avoid having to deal with any real emotions. i’m not good with feelings. i’m much more comfortable with the fantasy……
